I stopped by for a Monday afternoon lunch at Harpers Restaurant which is located at 601 Friendly Center Rd, right near the Cheesecake Factory. This place has been a Greensboro staple for several years and after eating here, I totally see why they have stayed around for so long.

As I walked inside I was delighted to see that the decor is what I like to call “Classic American". Lovely wooden furniture, etched glass panes and the ability to see the kitchen takes me back to going out to eat as a child.

Once seated I reviewed the lunch menu and weighed out the options.

I decided to get the Wedge Salad to start off.

I love a good Wedge Salad! This one was loaded with lots of blue cheese crumbles and crispy bacon. It was honestly a good sized portion that could be a meal by itself if you were to add maybe some steak or chicken to it. Next I ordered the Reuben with fries for my meal.

The Reuben came out hot and fresh loaded with corned beef and melty cheese. The fries were crispy and seasoned with salt and pepper.

There was just the right amount of sauerkraut and 1000 island to give it that special tang. I was only able to finish half of the sandwich and took the rest to go.

For all of this I paid $30.16 which is not too bad considering that it was enough for two meals. I will definitely be coming back here, next time I want to try the chicken tenders.
